Dawiyat Concludes Phase 1 of Fiber Optic Networks for Industrial Cities
Integrated Dawiyat, the Saudi Electricity Company’s fiber optics subsidiary, has concluded connecting all manufacturing facilities at the Sudair Industrial City and Jeddah’s Second Industrial City to fiber optic networks.
The company’s efforts are part of its cooperation agreement for the Broadband for Industrial Cities initiative, which Dawiyat had signed at the inauguration of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, under the patronage of Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense.
The industrial cities included in the project, the company said, are the Sudair Industrial City, and the Second Industrial City in Jeddah, both of which were connected in record time. Work is underway on the second phase of getting fiber optic connections to all factories at the Third Industrial City in Dammam, the Third Industrial City in Jeddah, and the Industrial City in Al-Kharj.
SEC’s fully owned subsidiary connected more than 340,000 households to its fiber optic network as part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s initiative to spread broadband services all over the Kingdom, all within the National Transformation Program 2020.
